The 1971-1981 Infinite Way Letters The Journey Back to the Father's House The 1979 Letters by Joel S. Goldsmith Edited by Lorraine Sinkler This book explains the necessity of attaining the mind of Christ or the transcendental mind. The emphasis is on the importance of going beyond the letter of truth, which is the truth that is known in the mind, to achieving the Christ-mind. Goldsmith explains that this takes time and practice and says "Every truth heard or read that makes you feel it is truth, is a seed, that is being taken into your consciousness. You can no more expect it to do something for you tomorrow than if you planted an apple seed today and expected to find apples growing in your yard tomorrow." The mind of Christ is that Truth received from within our own being and comes after time spent living by the letter of truth and opening ourselves to hear the Word of God through meditation. We have to become adept at meditation, so that we can hear the still small voice. As he says "When God speaks, our problems dissolve…. When we hear the voice of God, our entire universe changes." He states very clearly that knowing the letter of truth is not sufficient, we have to progress towards being taught by the spirit or Christ within us, then our consciousness is changed. He says "Nothing exists for us except what we become conscious of or aware of. Therefore, if we would bring the grace of God into our experience, we must consciously open our consciousness to the truth that 'I and the Father are one.'" This book demands that we go beyond mental knowledge to the spiritual reality, which is within each of us. Copyright © 1999-2004. All rights reserved. The Valor Foundation.
